Farmers, market gardeners and people making traditional-style products in the Pajottenland have set up a co-operative to promote their wares and deliver them to customers in a more focused way. ‘The co-operative is designed to help farmers, market gardeners and other producers of local goods to face up to the hardships’, says Tania Stadsbader from the non-profit-making body Pajottenland Plus. ‘The co-operative has been created to help small, individual producers survive, people who would otherwise be helpless in the face of the major distributors. Cooperation is being facilitated in order to boost sales while improving the promotion efforts. Producers are also paid a fairer price for their wares.’ (RK, okt 2012)
